COVID-19 (Coronavirus) As of 29 August, all TfL bus services should be back to a full service with the exception of weekend-only night routes, which remain withdrawn until further notice in line with the withdrawal of night tube services and general closure of much of the night time economy. From the same date, many routes will have limited additional peak hour trips at school times. These will be covered in the usual way on the dedicated Covid-19 page (initial details added 2 September). Additionally, certain journeys on some routes around school times, mostly in the morning, will be designated for children or adults only, due to 'school buses' being allowed to operate at full capacity. Please see TfL publicity for more details and note that I do not have any information about which specific journeys are affected on each route. Please note that updates to the Covid page are still a little behind, but it is no longer a high priority as the various special schedules should have all ended, apart from peak hour extras. I do continue to work through the backlog of Covid updates as I intend to retain the Covid page for the historical record. I am also pleased to advise that the rest of the site is now generally back up to date, subject to the usual caveats about late receipt of data etc., and I am starting to post advance changes once again. One outstanding task is to check non-TfL routes, many of which may have seen permanent post-Covid reductions. I am aware of changes to Carousel Buses Uxbridge area routes from 30 August.

Non-TfL routes are amalgamated within the main route groups, but marked non-TfL. This refers to routes for which TfL is not responsible for marketing and ticketing, not the contractual position of the routes. In general TfL tickets are not accepted and fares may differ from those on other local bus services.

If you want to find routes serving particular places, try using your browser's search webpage facility (ctrl+F typically), e.g. for 'Barkingside' (don't be too specific). Alternatively, visit London's Busroutes Homepage where you can find a proper index.

Route numbers written on a yellow background are normally operated using wheelchair-accessible buses.

Route numbers written on a red background are normally operated using "New Bus for London" double deckers. These are being progressively converted to conventional boarding arrangements, but retaining the rear door for exit only - see the changes page for routes affected.

Route numbers written on a blue background are normally operated using (wheelchair accessible) single deckers.

Those on green are operated by (wheelchair accessible) single deckers where both doors may be used for both boarding and alighting.

Notes written in green refer to deviations and diversions that, while long-term, are not intended to be permanent.

Traditional matrix timetables are available for the vast majority of routes, available either on this site or on other sites (see below). Thanks are due to those who have helped me directly with the supply and publication of timetable information.

Where timetables are available you can click on the route number in this list. In some cases you will need to visit other websites to get full information. Please note that no responsibility can be accepted for accuracy or currency of pages on other sites. Due to the continually changing nature of the web, it is possible that some pages might have moved or been removed. Unless stated otherwise, bus passes are valid in the appropriate zones, and Travelcards and LT passes are valid throughout Greater London. In some cases passes may also be valid on sections of route outside greater London – please check first. Free travel is available in the immediate vicinity of Heathrow Airport.

Long distance/limited-stop services which do not carry local traffic within London have been omitted. Minor route variations outwith Greater London are not generally shown.

For reasons of practicality, updates to this list may be carried out a few days before or after the actual date of service changes. Please check the changes page for the latest information on service changes.

900 series routes

A number of 900 series routes operate around London to plug gaps in the main service network, usually providing a once-a-week return service to local shopping centres.

School buses

These normally provide morning journeys in the direction shown, with return journeys in the afternoon, during school term only. In a few cases there is a regular service over part of the route, which is described in the main route list. Although available to all passengers, timetables are designed in accordance with school requirements and services are liable to alteration or cancellation in accordance with school requirements.

A number of other routes have additional journeys at school times over the normal route; these are not included below.
